All Hands on Deck

Three days,
4,200 metal boxes,
21,000 pieces of candy,
one 18-wheeler parked in the MMI lawn.

Countless MMIers working around the clock (and what I imagine to be one very bewildered mailman) turned around an entire project in less than a week.  It takes a village to reach over four thousand people on a personal level — a simple note in the mail is never so simple.

When these big projects come about, and I am able to witness the synergy of our team, it reminds me of how proud I am to be an MMIer and work with the people here. MMI has had this philosophy of going beyond for some time with our clients. You will even find a reference to it on our letters to prospective clients introducing ourselves- we are different because “we relieve them of stress and do not put strict boundaries on the relationships.”

We have that same relationship with each other. No matter what needs to be done, MMIers are always willing to jump in and pull together for the greater good. You won’t find anyone saying “this is not my deal” and deciding to sit this one out. I’m always amazed by how willing MMIers are to step completely outside of what they are expected to do in order to fulfill needs and help get things done.

When all of the supplies arrived for our Fort Bend County mailers last week, and the “all hands on deck” call went out, there was an audible shuffle. Our agency accountant and art directors were out on the lawn stuffing crinkle into boxes and folding paper along with the interns and project managers on the account. Perhaps from starting as a small agency we realize the importance of needing to wear many hats, but even as we grow I suspect this tradition of humble helpfulness will continue to be an MMI personality trait. Again, it makes me proud to be part of the MMI team.
