To be an effective team member, you should be able to:
- Bounce ideas off of each other. Everyone shines in their own way, which brings more to the table. As they say, “Two heads are better than one.”
- Be positive. A positive attitude creates a happy, healthy working environment, which is where the best ideas evolve.
- Listen. Learn. Be Proactive. For example, when you are working with your team listen to each other’s ideas. Observe and learn from your peers, they can be the best mentors! To be proactive, anticipate the team’s needs and deliver.
- Communicate, communicate, and communicate some more. We all need to be on the same page and working towards common goals and objectives.
- Be respectful and considerate of each other. We are all aspiring for the same goal.
- Step Up. When you have completed your assigned task, ask what else you can do to help. This is the time to be an overachiever.
