Situation
Industrial Info Resources (IIR), a provider of industrial market intelligence to decision-makers in a variety of industries ranging from pharmaceuticals to oil and gas, sought to increase its online presence and brand awareness via social media.
Approach
MMI provided content and outreach strategy for IIR’s existing social media presence on Twitter and Facebook. Implementation of strategy included posting IIR’s top stories, videos and podcasts, pairing the information with relevant news stories as they break, and seeking out news media on Twitter to gain awareness of IIR as a resource.
IIR’s extensive involvement in tradeshows also served as a powerful tool in reaching potential IIR customers. Working with IIR representatives on site at each tradeshow across the globe, we coordinated an up-to-the-minute stream of news live from each conference, relaying to those who could not attend. This resulted in several retweets by official tradeshow Twitter accounts, and exposure to their targeted groups of followers.
Results
- Followers of @Industrial_Info on Twitter rose from 13 to 485 during a period of seven months, and included industry reporters, organizations, providers and decision-makers as well as many of IIR’s clients.
- Traffic to Industrial Info Resources’ Facebook page rose from an average of 13.9 visitors a day to 59.6 visitors per day.
- Over 850 clicks were recorded routing from IIR’s Facebook and Twitter pages to IIR articles during the same seven-month time period.
